Iris Park ApartmentsPortland, ME Designed for the visually impaired who are able to live independently with modest assistance, Iris Park Apartments along with the Iris Network provide special services to residents as well as the community. Built in the early 1900's as a residential care facility for the visually impaired, the Barker Building has been renovated into apartments while preserving its historical character. A second, newly constructed, three-story building houses the remainder of the 30 units. Preference is given to the visually impaired. Iris Park is conveniently located near downtown Portland where shopping, restaurants and other services are accessible by bus line. |
